Metal prints from Journey Fine Art are dye-sublimated onto aluminum sheets. Dye sublimation is a heat-based printing process where solid dyes are turned directly into gas—skipping the liquid stage—and infused into a specially coated aluminum sheet. Under high heat and pressure, the dyes penetrate the surface coating and solidify as they cool, becoming a permanent part of the metal. This creates rich, vibrant, hi-definition images with exceptional durability and a smooth, professional finish that won’t peel, crack, or fade over time. Our metal prints should last 60+ years indoors without fading.
Some images, are infused onto aluminum with a white base & some with a clear base that allows the color & texture of the metal to show through to become a part of the artwork.
Caring for metal prints:
Handle carefully to avoid bending, denting, or crushing the metal.
Keep away from direct sunlight.
Surface can be cleaned using a soft cloth with water or non-ammonia based window cleaner.
